How does national culture affects the event of international mergers and acquisitions?
If the culture and values of two countries are different in the minds of the politicians in charge and the merger/acquisition involves an industry or company that is thought to be of vital national importance to one nation, this could easily result in the merger being opposed or even blocked by one or more countries involved in the deal. If the merger takes place between two companies from two rival nations, then national security concerns could also come into play depending on the industry the companies are involved in.
