How does my Tata Indicom mobile/Walky modem differ from a standard external modem?
Tata Indicom mobile / Walky has sophisticated communication electronics built-in, which includes a high-speed wireless data modem. Your standard external modem needs a fixed line phone connection to connect to the Internet while your mobile/walky is a wireless phone cum modem. You can also make or receive phone calls when the data connection is “dormant”, without having to terminate the existing connection, and resume your session when the voice call is over.
