How does my SecureCottage email account give me privacy?
Several ways: • PGP encrypted end to end email. • S/MIME encrypted end to end email. • Secure web (HTTPS) web access in using the Horde/IMP webmail client system. • Use of TLS in the email server • Our email server supports TLS or the STARTTLS command • When the other email server also supports STARTTLS we SEND encrypted email: that’s line encryption. • we will endeavour to have verified TLS communication, although this is hard to do with the current email server system. • We will attempt to gather the certificates necessary for you to achieve verified TLS communication with any mail server you regularly exchange email with.
