How does Multicultural Affairs support AU s efforts to retain minority students?
Our staff members routinely advise minority students on a host of issues and assist ethnic and cultural clubs/organizations in providing diverse programmatic initiatives. In addition, our staff advocates for the interests of minority students by serving on numerous campus committees and project teams, and provides pertinent recommendations with the ultimate objective of maintaining a welcoming and supportive campus climate. Multicultural Affairs staff members also track the academic progress (e.g., retention and graduation rates) of FDS and STEP students, and students who participate in the mentoring program; the data assist our staff in advising students and making relevant recommendations.
