How does Mormonism differ from Christianity?
The difference between Christianity and Mormonism is about as profound as between Christianity and any other religion, and the two are absolutely seperate religions just as much as Islam and Christianity are seperate religions despite having two of the same books. Mormons have the holy bible (old and new testament) and also on top of it a few more books. They do not practice polygamy anymore, believe in one god and jesus although their belief of the origins and history are a bit different and include revelations about the “new world” (North America) and such that can be explained best in their own words. Perhaps the most profound difference is that Christianity (most branches at least) largely does not have a charitable view of other religions, especially the other Abrahamic religions. Mormonism on the other hand believes that while “precious truths” may have been lost over the years they still encourage faith and good works and are fundamentally good.
