How does Microsoft define a system builder?
OK, there have been a few threads on OEM/retail windows and what is what. I have always been under the impression that anyone that builds a PC is considered a “system builder” as per the OEM EULA. A member here posted that you are not qualified as a system builder unless “certified” by MS. I have never heard of this and would like someone who is more knowledgeable than I to clarify this. The link posted was referring to OPK’s and DLing them right from MS. I think this is different than saying that someone who buys an OEM version of an OS and installs it on a custom PC is in violation of the OEM EULA for not being qualified in the eyes of MS. So, if you can clarify, I would much appreciate it.
