How Does Med Flight find its way to the Scene?
The Life Net aircraft are equipped with GPS navigation systems. When requested to respond to an accident scene, latitude and longitude coordinates are generated by our communications center by using a computer mapping program. These coordinates are then relayed to the helicopter crew and are then programmed into the GPS navigation system. The pilot then uses the GPS to help direct the flight to those coordinates.
