A macrobiotic diet is a way of life. Everything we cook is designed to balance the yin and yang energies of the body. When there is disharmony in the body, the feminine yin energy and masculine yang energies are off balance, leading to physical and emotional sickness. In true macrobiotic cooking, I would begin preparing breakfast at 6 a.m., and by 12 noon, I will have cooked enough food for my entire day.
