How does LSx link to the Greater London Authority and the London Sustainable Development Commission?
The GLA has a statutory duty to incorporate sustainable development into its policies and programmes, as well as to contribute to the achievement of sustainable development in the UK. The Mayor also produces a regular State of the Environment Report and ensures that sustainability is fully integrated into the GLA’s performance review process. The Mayor established the London Sustainable Development Commission in Spring 2002. Our Director, Samantha Heath, is a member and former co-chair of the Commission. The Commission exists to advise on sustainability issues in London, challenging policy makers to promote a better quality of life for all Londoners, both now and in the future.
