Inside of our van, an equipment operator scans overhead power lines and equipment with an infrared camera while the driver travels along at normal speeds. If the image on the screen shows an abnormal temperature differential, or “hot spot”, the location is further studied to evaluate the need for repair or replacement of the equipment.
