How does living in a small town create morale in a person?

0

I grew up in a big city and I don’t think my morals are any worse or better than any person from a small town. I see certain things in a different way, like I expect that all politicians are corrupt by nature, yet. I consider myself to be a very moral person and don’t think I would have turned out any different if I grew up in a small town. Its the desire to think that we have to go back to those values when in fact, some of those small towns make Peyton Place look like a fairy tale.

Living in a small town helps instill morals through accountability and responsibility for personal conduct. Nearly everyone knows everyone else, and it isn’t unusual for the neighbor down the street to call ones parents and give them an earful when someone misbehaves. The list of “usual suspects” is much smaller in a small town too.
