How does LinePipe stand up to UV light?
UV light does cause slow degradation of epoxy resin, but because the UV rays are absorbed by the outer layer, these only affect the pipe surface, and Fiberspar pipe has a UV inhibitor in the surface layers. Any UV effect is, therefore, limited to the outermost surface and is mainly cosmetic. This outer layer will continue to protect the main laminate thickness with no further deterioration. The overall effect on the pipe strength is insignificant, and the pipe can continue to be used at full-rated pressure even if this cosmetic effect is apparent.
