How does Light Yagami die in the anime series Death Note and does L die?
Long story… brace yourself XD Yes L dies. He dies after Light practicly blackmailed Rem [Amane Misa’s Shinigami] into killing L. Light devised this whole plan, and if Rem didn’t kill L, Misa would be confirmed as the second Kira [she actually is the second Kira, but Light doesn’t want L knowing that because then suspicion will fall on Light once again for the being the first Kira]. Anyways since Rem cares about Misa a lot, she wrote L’s real name in the Death Note [Shinigami can see people’s names and lifespans…] So Rem killed L – but, Rem herself died as well. This is because the only way a Shinigami can be killed is if it protects the one it loves [in this case – Misa] by killing another human being [which was L]. Light was exceptionally happy because he killed to birds with one stone – L and Rem were both gone.
