How does LifeStem’s MicroBank™ Service differ from other methods of collecting stem cells?
As stem cell technology continues to advance, scientists are finding that micro quantities of adult stem cells can be manipulated in culture to produce large quantities of stem cells similar to those collected through more invasive collection techniques. Other stem cell collection procedures include (1) bone marrow aspiration, which is a significant surgical procedure and (2) therapeutic apheresis which is a 4 to 8 hour dialysis-like procedure which is performed after the individual is injected with a growth factor drug to stimulate the bone marrow.
