How does Lescol/Fluvastatin work?
Lescol/Fluvastatin is belongs to the family of drugs known as statin or Antilipemic Agent and commonly used for the lowering cholesterol and others lipids or fats in the body. Lescol/Fluvastatin is works by blocking an enzyme that is needed by the body to make cholesterol. Lescol/Fluvastatin works by reducing the production of cholesterol by the liver. There are two sorts of cholesterol; first ‘bad’ sort called LDL (low density lipoprotein) and second ‘good’ sort called HDL (high density lipoprotein). Lescol/Fluvastatin decreases the production of LDL cholesterol by blocking the action of the enzyme in the liver that’s known as HMG-CoA reeducates, and responsible for its production. Lescol/Fluvastatin decreases the amount of cholesterol in the liver cells, which causes them to take up LDL cholesterol from the blood in the body. The decreased cholesterol production and increased removal of LDL cholesterol from the blood ultimately results in lowered blood cholesterol levels. Statins are
