How does Lek measure the effectiveness of its environmental protection policy?
We use a variety of monitors to measure the following: use of natural resources, quantity of emissions released into the air, amount of energy consumption and disposal of waste materials. All of these can be divided into three groups: • Monitoring required by law and performed by authorized state institutions • Monitoring pollutants for our internal information, and carried out by our own Department for Environmental Protection Laboratory. • Inspecting the quantity and quality of pollutants and emissions. Individual Lek sites collect and register the monitored data pertaining to their operations in their own records. All legally required monitoring and analysis is performed either by our own Department for Environmental Protection Laboratory or in cooperation with other authorized organizations.
