How does Lek dispose of the waste resulting from the manufacture of drugs?

Our primary goal is to “produce” the least amount of waste to begin with. We try to recycle or dispose of our waste materials ourselves. We have an established, ongoing, formalized and strict system of collecting, controlling and directing waste materials. Paper and metals are recycled separately. We introduced decomposition of exhausted fruit plants, such as horse-chestnut and American slamnik, which we use in manufacture of OTCs. We recycle or reuse limited amounts of organic solvents. All hazardous waste materials are disposed of by thermal processing in our own incinerator in Lendava. Waste materials, which we cannot for technical or economic reasons remove ourselves, are consigned for disposal by organizations or companies, authorized by permit from the Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning of the Republic of Slovenia.
