How does Leaf Defier™ compare to other gutter protection products?
There are basically two other types of gutter protection products; the inexpensive screens and the expensive metal covers. Both types do not completely solve the problem and typically create other problems. Both do not keep all debris from entering the gutter, including seeds that sprout, pine needles, shingle grit, and breeding insects, to mention only a few. It is very difficult to get this debris out with a screen or metal cover on top of the gutters. Both do not work with certain gutter configurations or steep roof pitches. Both materially reduce or restrict the flow of water into the gutter system. Many expensive covers reduce the gutter opening from 5 or 6 inches to LESS THAN 1 INCH! Many of the screens and covers require a complicated, time-consuming installation. Some void roof warranties, displace shingles, or require a complete replacement of the gutter system.
