Both PRK and LASIK are possible and effective for correcting hyperopia. The procedure is identical to the myopic (nearsighted) procedure, however by blocking the laser from treating centrally and allowing it to remove more tissue in the periphery of the cornea, a steepening rather than a flattening of the cornea is produced.
