How does KREC advance renewable energy and energy efficiency in Kentucky?
It is vital to Kentucky’s energy future that a statewide public awareness and education program be established to develop and disseminate outreach materials on renewable energy opportunities and energy efficiency savings. KREC, through KPPC, will continue to support and establish educational, demonstration and deployment programs that encourage development and implementation of energy efficiency opportunities and renewable energy production, as it has in the past. KREC will provide Kentucky’s public and private institutions with valuable technical assistance, and information on “best practices,” in the form of energy efficiency assessments conducted in conjunction with other programs being delivered by KPPC. Technical assistance includes such things as utility bill or tariff analysis and on-site energy efficiency assessments, which are important first steps toward Kentucky’s energy efficiency based future.
