How does Jeffco allocate Title I funds to schools?
Jeffco allocates funds to schools based on a per-pupil amount times the number of free lunch students. The per-pupil amount is determined by the amount of available funds and fluctuates from year to year. In addition, a school with a higher free lunch ratio receives a higher per-pupil amount. Schools with lower ratios receive a lower per-pupil amount. This year the allocation ranged from $1,276 to $826 per pupil.
