Great question! In a nutshell, there are three types of schools you’ll run into: Traditional, Sport, and more “Real Life” focused. Traditional arts tend to focus on lineage, culture, and complex moves. Therefore, if this is your interest, call us so we can refer you to one of the top traditional schools in the area. Sports centered arts are for strict competition, focused on “winning well” not necessarily “living well”, and tend to be too intense for most people (plus likelihood of injury is a lot higher).
