How does JACQA relate to Ofqual?
A. Ofqual is the new independent regulator of qualifications and examinations, charged with ensuring standards. It has sole responsibility for the accreditation of public qualifications. Ofqual is a regulatory body (due to be established in statute) whose decisions about accreditation are made on the basis of a rigorous set of quality-assurance criteria which all public qualifications must meet. Ofqual does not advise on the public funding of qualifications.
