How does it relate to HP Chai Appliance Platform?
The Appliance Computing Environment is closely aligned with HP ChaiAppliance Platform. HP ChaiServer was initially developed by the same team that created cooltown, and it implements much of the distributed object model for web appliances. HP ChaiServer is built on the Java programming language and requires a compliant Java Virtual Machine on the host device. The cooltown work extends this capability to non-Java environments. It allows true and seamless interoperability between appliances, computers, and other networked devices.
