How does it feel to be interviewed by Runners World?
My grown sons both laughed when I told them that you wanted to talk to me. I’m the world’s slowest runner. The virtue of my running is that I do it every day. Do your sons run with you?: They will run with me. They will condescend occasionally. I’m really too slow for anybody. My wife kind of inspired me to get into it 27 years ago and now she sort of fast walks and she leaves me behind. Tourists in Central Park pass me by, but it’s about loving being out and putting in 50 minutes a day. What’s your typical running pace? I’m the slowest runner, not faster than 12-minute miles. I run for 50 minutes every day. How many miles do you cover in that time? 3 to 4 miles. How do you look when you’re running alongside your wife, Cipa? It’s just a funny sight to see her walking faster than I run. You have an apartment in New York City and a country house in upstate New York. What’s better, running in the city or the country? Definitely the country. What are your favorite routes? I’ll try to vary
