How does it affect the University of Bristol?

As a large local employer and education provider, we currently emit 38,500 tonnes of carbon dioxide a year from our buildings and processes. This is a level of emissions we are determined to reduce, through demand reduction, efficiency and the use of low carbon and renewable generating technologies. The programme will help the University to react positively to environmental, sustainability and climate change pressures by establishing carbon management as a core management process. This programme will compliment the University’s other carbon reduction activities, such as those associated with our role in the Green Capital Momentum Group and the Low Carbon Cities Programme, and demonstrates our continued commitment to reducing carbon emissions.
