Traffic is routed down the private circuit connecting the customer site to the Telewest node and then over the Telewest backbone network. The service uses Cisco Customer Edge (CE) routers and Cisco Provider Edge (PE) routers and Cisco Provider or core (P) routers. IPVPN with MPLS combines the privacy and Quality of Service (QoS) of an ATM and Frame Relay solution with the flexibility and ease of connectivity via IP.
