How does invino rate wines?
We look at wine ratings by class, price tier if you will. Assessing wines based on their merit compared to others of the price point, we think this gives a more sensible idea of how a wine is showing. For us, the interesting and helpful piece of data is to know how a wine compares to something else in the same price tier. For example: If a wine is offered Inside at $7.99 and our Tasting Panel rates it 90 points, it would be a wine to compare to a sub $10 offering in the general marketplace. All in, we’re saying, given the universe of $7.99 wines out there, this is a wine we would be happy to drink for the price. As wine is subjective, these ratings are our Panel’s opinion. Ratings we stand behind on wines that have been tasted and selected based on their age, quality and value. We are committed to sharing wines that meet our strict standards, delivering them with accurate descriptions of the wine’s flavor profile now.
