How does international marketing differ from domestic marketing?
S-BABA has a good response. We must remember though that we in the U.S. get so many things wrong, in this case the term “marketing”. Most people believe that it is merely a fancy word for sales – which it is not. Just look at your local news paper’s job postings and you’ll see a “sales and marketing” heading but all or 99.9% of the positions listed therein are indeed sales jobs and have absolutely nothing to do with marketing. Marketing, to put it as simply as I can is 1) Research 2) Product Development 3) Pricing 4) Promotion. We also don’t seem to understand are the “INCOTERMS” (international commercial terms) which were first introduced in 1936 – and are vital when pricing a product.
