How does internal combustion engine affect the society?
Society is made of people, and we people love to get around, where we want, and when we want. It enables us to have personal freedom of mobility. The internal combustion engine has spoiled us and many of us think of driving our cars as a right, rather than as a privilege. We just jump in and go. If we didn’t have cars, we would have to rely on public transportation, and we would have to spend much more time planning our trips and how we would get around. Also, if we didn’t have cars, transportation would be much more expensive, since there would be less competition. For most of the history of the internal combustion engine, fuel has been cheap so it made sense.
