Infrared heaters are widely used for comfort heating in animal husbandry of many types of animals and are also the preferred heater of other experts including zoos, veterinarians and herpetological suppliers. Infrared heaters are used for brooding of mammals, livestock, cats, piglets in farrowing cages and in kennels. Because all species of animals have specific temperature requirements and there are a variety of cages available, the distance from the cage and the wattage of the heater you should use will vary.
