How does ILLE extend lamp life?

Any increase or decrease in operating voltage applied to a dichroic lamp will respectively decrease or increase its life. In fact one volt extra volt on a 12 Volt Dichroic lamp will reduce its life to about 25% of its manufacturer’s rated life. By regulating lamp voltage and eliminating voltage variations and spikes, ILLE increases lamp life. Additionally, because ILLE supplies a 12 Volt lamp with only 11 Volt the overall benefit is an increase in lamp life of up to 150% or 2.5 times! A further advantage of ILLE relates to the fact that a transformer’s designed voltage ratio is accurate only when it is working at its designed load due to the effect of winding resistance. The effect is such that there is an increase in output voltage if a smaller load is connected and therefore a resulting decrease in lamp life. However, if an ILLE unit is installed it becomes possible to re-lamp with, say, 20 Watt lamps where previously 50 Watt lamps were fitted and obtain an increased lamp life. This
