How does HIPAA apply to KU students who have signed an Authorization to Share Personal Information?
The Authorization to Share Personal Information does not apply to a student’s medical records at Student Health Services. If a student does want to release health care related information, the student must authorize that release and it is for a specific event and not an ongoing, all inclusive release.
