How does HIP Kids Focus on Childhood Health, Hunger and Poverty?
• It feeds hungry kids. On a daily basis, fresh fruit will be delivered to the children in the HIP Kids Program. Twice a month food packs will be delivered to approximately 90 kids. And four timesper year, we will provide a warm meal to about 30 participants and their families. • It provides an enrichment component for kids. The HIP Kids Committee will organize and host nine events for about 30 children where we will focus on aspects of health, nutrition, exercise, and well being in a fun way, while providing the children with healthy food both during the events and at the end of each event when we deliver food packs stuffed and paid for by the League. • It provides an enrichment component for kids and their families. We will organize and provide quarterly events for 30 children and their families. These events will have speakers who address health, nutrition, exercise and well being while also providing dinner for these families. • It provides opportunities for membership enrichment.
