How does Hebrew language sounds like?
Hebrew is a Semitic language and historically was very close to Arabic (we share many similar sounds). Modern Hebrew was revived by European Jewish linguists, so some of its sounds were changed. People compare it to German (guttural “r”, similar “ch”; the consonants are very alike, but the vowels are different), or French (mostly because of the “r” sound). Here are some Hebrew speaking videos: *Prince of Egypt (Israeli version), sung by Ofrah Hazah. Except for the rolling “r” (that today is used by classic singers only) this is a great example for Modern Hebrew. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_GbI2Tlt5… *”Hakol Dvash” (everything is honey)- a brand new Israeli song. This is how Modern Hebrew sounds like. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YzSPIT2M7… *”Al ta’amini” (don’t believe)- another new Israeli song.
