The Purpose of Heated Floors Heated floors are used to keep floors warm in places where you might be in bare feet like the tile floor of a home bathroom. They can be expensive to install, so they are not seen in many homes. How It Is Done To install the system, a mat that has the heating mechanism woven into it is placed just above the subfloor. Wiring is then run from the heating mats to the wall and up to a switch.
