How does hardware changes affect the boot process?
It theory it can allow the PC to start quicker. However the boot process itself is usually more dependent on the the OS (operating System) and what all you have installed for software. Each program you add to the OS takes up space and time on the boot sequence. This is especially true for programs that load when the OS is first started, like antivirus, printer software, IM software, etc…. One of the biggest reasons the OS is still most important is that when most MAJOR hardware changes are done people usually reinstalls or upgrade their OS. In my 10 years of IT work I would say 85% of hardware upgrades are people who game, and that is mostly sound cards and graphics cards that really play no role in the overall speed of the OS loading. Sometimes they also install peripherals needed to use new hardware, like say a modem adapter to a PCI slot. These also do not directly relate to the OS boot time. Just FYI the most important things for getting a faster boot up in an OS from hardware wo
