How does GSEs technology work for in situ recovery?
To implement the technology, reagent GSX™ could be injected using the same facilities previously used for waterflooding. GSE’s solution seeks to enhance oil recovery by overcoming the complex behavior of the multi-phase flow characteristics under in situ conditions. In other words, when the reagent comes into contact with oil it does not simply displace the oil, but rather the reagent dissolves the oil producing a homogeneous single-phase liquid solution. As the mixture travels from the injection well to the producer well, this process of reagent enrichment with previously trapped oil continues until the reagent is completely exhausted. Thereafter, the reagent becomes inactive in the additional oil recovery process and the homogeneous single-phase solution simply flows through the pores and eventually reaches the production well. Upon recovery of the resultant homogeneous oil / reagent mixture, the reagent could be separated by simple distillation for recycling, or it could be left in
