How does Group Policy and Logon Scripts work cross-forest?
Loopback processing is used by default for users in cross forest logon, but normal processing can be enabled via the (machine) Group Policy setting “Allow Cross Forest User Policy….” Also worth noting is that with “Allow Cross Forest User Policy…” set, you can still use loopback processing in either merge or replace mode, via the traditional means of enabling loopback on a GPO that applies to the machine.
