How does Germany feel about the Holocaust?
The German government and many individuals have apologised to the Jewish community world wide and continue to do so every year. Every year the parliament has a memorial of the event with a minutes silence, to make sure that no one ever forgets the atrocities that were committed by Germans. There is a very large holocaust memorial built in Berlin next to the Parliament just a few years ago. It is now illegal in Germany to deny the Holocaust happened, to display Nazi insignia or repeat any of the Nazi slogans. It is punished by Imprisonment. In school today, the WW1, Weimar republic, Article 48, the burning of the Reichstag, the Reichskristallnacht, WW2, the Final solution and much more is taught every!!! year, so from the age of 12- 16 German pupils have 4-6 weeks of that topic in history class every year. They have to watch the documentaries of the concentration camps that were made by the allies after the war and have to see the piles of dead, the pain and suffering that was endured b
