How does Geothermal compare with WindPower?
WindPower has been the most successful source of Green Power to date, with 4,261 MW of capacity. The reasons include a very successful political lobby, the existence of a federal Production Tax Credit, and that wind generation can be installed in all 50 states. (The credit will be available to Geothermal retroactive to January 1, 2002 upon the Senate/ House Conference on the Energy Bill is completed). Geothermal, because of its high efficiency, is more competitive in the long-term.
