How Does General Titus Andronicus Get His Revenge In William Shakespeares Play?
By the End of Act three in the play Titus has realized that it is time to seek justice after his sons are killed by the machinations of Aaron the lover of his nemesis Queen Tamora; who has also tricked him into having his hand cut off. He sends his son Lucius to raise an army from amongst the Goths against Rome. He then in Act IV is informed by his daughter who has neither tongue nor hands who her attackers were. Now his resolve of revenge is absolute. Titus feigns madness in order to get close to the Queen. His son is marching towards the city and the Queen gives birth to a child of mixed race. Realizing that the child is his Aaron flees with it to save it from harm in case the Emperor Saturninus finds out. Thinking Titus genuinely mad the Queen dressed as a spirit along with her sons approaches him and asks him to stop his son’s advance in return for which she will grant him vengeance. He agrees but keeps the sons of the Queen with him. Later he has them killed and a pie made of thei
