How does gas laws affect a hot air balloon?
I think we’re really talking about physics and not chemistry but here it is anyway. Hot air is less dense than cold air. So just like anything else that is less dense than the fluid it’s in a hot air balloon will rise. Hot air balloons usually fly in the morning and evenings specifically for this reason. In the heat of the day they would have significantly less lift as the hot air in the canopy is closer to the atmosphere’s ambient temperature.
