How Does Gambling Addiction Occur?

theres two kinds of gambling addiction – the rush and thrill of victory – which is called action gamblers the amount of the bet is the rush and gamblers usually have to keep raising the bet to get the same rush or thrill the other kind of gambling addict is whats called the escape gambler – where they are not so much trying to beat the game or machine as much as escape their own reality and other life problems – this is usually slot players – I dont know if your born with a tendency or not – people who are competitive and like risk and chance are more apt to be a action gambler – they want the thrill and action more than the money itself which if they dont have alot of money in the first place can often lead to financial and personal ruin because gambling and winning is not impossible but close to it for a person to win at consistently.

Fascinating view on the 2 different types of addiction, Miss Bon Bon. I agree very much with the first poster. They said is starts when you win a little bit. The first time I went to a casino I won SO easily. I couldn’t believe how easy it was to suddenly have lots of money. Imagine a broke college kid. His dad gives him 20 bucks to play with. An hour or two later, he has over $300!!! I felt like I hit the lottery jackpot. That’s how great that money seemed to me. About a year later, I bought my first 2-dollar lottery ticket. It won $100!!! AMAZING!!! Long story short, thousands and thousands and thousands of dollars later wasted on casinos and lottery tickets, I finally stopped. If I had a nickel for every dollar I wasted, I’d be rich! To anyone going to a casino for their first time, I very much hope they lose. Let them go back some other time and win a little, but that FIRST TIME going I’m convinced is a big part of people becoming addicted.
