Scientific Management, as it has been oft put, makes employees into cogs of a large machine. They are nothing more then tools in a labor process. By analyzing the processes a worker undergoes, the manager can find ways to make th job more efficient. For America, scientific management had its hayday around the industrial revolution. Taylor’s theories are still in place today, but have been eclipsed by the work of Fayol and Follett.
