How does Fountain of Life™ contribute to the Amazon Rainforests’ protection?
Few people are aware that the açai palm tree is one of the few palm trees in existence that are cut down and destroyed at a rate of between 7,000 to 10,000 trees on a weekly basis. This is done for the purpose of acquiring a 12-inch section of the tree for the Heart of Palm, the same Heart of Palm eaten in salads around the world. By creating a demand for the awesome açai berry, Fountain of Life™ has created an economic incentive to allow the trees to remain unharmed for the indigenous people to reap the rewards of harvesting berries twice annually. We also encourage and aid in the process of planting additional trees in the Amazon Rainforest. This, along with our project “Amazon Life,” is one of a few ways that Fountain of Life™ gives back to the Amazon Rainforest.
