How does football help improve muscular endurance and cardiorespiratory endurance?
Muscular endurance – applies mainly to offensive and defensive linemen, linebackers and running backs. The constant resistance (pushing against opposing players, tackling, running against forces) and exertion helps with strength. Cardiorespiratory endurance – applies to all players except quarterbacks and kickers. Not only running constantly on a stop-and-go basis, but running with extra weight (pads and helmet).
