How does foil Radiant Barrier compare to the paint products?
A. Some professionals will suggest using Radiant Barrier alone, however at Art Electric & HVAC we do not. The reason being is that Radiant Barrier works at its best when combined with your current insulation product. Radiant Barrier and your insulation perform two separate functions. Though your insulation will slow down conductive heat transfer, it does not prevent radiant heat from penetrating. Radiant Barrier blocks radiant heat but does not prevent transfer. For this reason, the two make an excellent “partner” together as they both perform their own separate function.
