How does Flower Mound regulate noise associated with drilling?

0

The Oil and Natural Gas Well Drilling and Operations ordinance establishes noise or decibel (dB) limits for the noise produced from drilling operations. The noise generated from a drilling location may not exceed the following limits: 70 dB for drilling operations measured at 300 feet between 7 a.m. and 9 p.m.; 56 dB for drilling operations when measured at the nearest residence or public building between 9 p.m. and 7 a.m.; 70 dB measured at 300 feet for formation fracturing during the daytime; 5 dB over the ambient or surrounding average noise level during the daytime and 3 dB over the ambient noise level during the nighttime for compression or other motor-driven facilities measured at the nearest residence or public building. View the attached Decibel Level Comparison Chart for a comparison of noises and the associated decibel measurement.
