How does FireWall-1 deal with Secure Socket Layer (SSL) and HTTPS connections?

0

Since all SSL negotiation, authentication and encryption take place outside the FireWall-1 software (for example, between an HTTP client and an HTTP server), FireWall-1 does not deal with SSL directly. HTTPS is an HTTP protocol on top of SSL. The default HTTPS port number is 443, as assigned by the Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA). To allow HTTPS connections, create a new service of type TCP and port number 443. Then use HTTPS in your Rule Base.
